Sandra Bullock returns to Netflix soon. Following the success of Bird Box, the actress has applied for a role in the feature film adaptation of Unforgiven, based on the 2009 British three-part series.
Director and screenwriter of "Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation" Christopher McQuarrie wrote the screenplay, and German filmmaker Nora Fingscheidt will be directing this time.
"This project is near and dear to my heart," McQuarrie wrote on Twitter, adding that he was honored to know that he was in "such good hands."
He added that he wrote the first sketch for "Unforgiven" almost a decade ago, CNN reports.
The film focuses on a former inmate trying to rebuild her life after being released from prison. She is confronted with a society that does not allow her to thrive.
Bird Box was Sandra Bullock's first collaboration with Netflix, and the project is currently under development as a book.
